ACC requires that each church perform background checks on all participants 18 years of age or older attending with their group. ACC honors background checks for 18 months from the date of the check.
ALL ADULTS ATTENDING ACC MUST HAVE BEEN BACKGROUND CHECKED BY THEIR CHURCH. IF ANY ADULT COMES TO ACC WITHOUT HAVING BEEN BACKGROUND CHECKED BY THEIR CHURCH, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN AT CAMP. AS YOU KNOW, THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF OUR CHILDREN IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
When you arrive at check-in for ACC, you will check in first with the Assistant Director / registration manager, who will review all background checks. All Churches attending ACC will retain their Background Checks after inspection.
If you do not have background checks, you will be directed to a waiting area to confer with the Director of Missions. If your church is not part of the 15 associations who put on ACC, you will meet with the Assistant Director / Registration manager regarding outcomes.
Background check service providers that your Church uses prior to coming to camp must perform a national criminal background check that includes:
A check of the National Registry of Sex Offenders
A county and/or state criminal court search
Background checks are run by service providers on behalf of the churches. The church will be responsible for the information contained in the reports and will maintain the privacy of those reports.
Please use reputable, specialized firms who are able to provide the specific types of checks that ACC requires!
Below, ACC has offered a few recommendations as service providers for these checks. The names of these organizations are provided as a means of convenience and easy reference. These providers all charge a nominal fee for their services; check with each service provider for pricing. Churches are not required to use the recommended service providers, but they are examples of the types of organizations your church needs to use to run these checks.

Local, county, or state law enforcement agencies (These organizations are obviously reputable, but their checks are seldom, if ever, NATIONAL checks)

Friends or church members in or connected to law enforcement that can get you a deal
